I built my first computer about a year ago and noticed, based on both Linus' videos and articles around the internet, that I may have misappropriated some funds. I have been saving up and I'm wondering where to upgrade my system for the best bang-for-my-buck and to be prepared for new releases like Fallout 4 and Just Cause 3. I have an i5 4960k, msi 2gb 750 ti and a g45 x89 mobo. Thanks for your help

Thank you for the suggestions and yes I did get the motherboard wrong it's a z87. I was also reading that newer games are going to demand more ram. Would I be okay with 8 gb of ddr3 or should I look at 16 gb kits?

8GB of ram is fine. If you're just gaming and not doing anything too crazy in the background you'll be fine. Also, as people said above, upgrade your GPU.

At a later point in time you should post a topic on the forum with your budget and we can help you in finding a graphics card that will fit your needs.

CPU: AMD FX-6300 4GHz @ 1.3 volts | CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO | RAM: 8GB DDR3

Motherboard: Gigabyte 970A-DS3P | GPU: EVGA GTX 960 SSC | SSD: 250GB Samsung 850 EVO

HDD: 1TB WD Caviar Green | Case: Fractal Design Core 2500 | OS: Windows 10 Home

I agree with everyone's opinion to upgrade the GPU, tho i'm currently using GTX 750 Ti and i believe it's a decent video card. Playing games like Witcher 3, Dying Light and other high demanding games at maxed settings, but that's probably because I play at 1280x1024 resolution as my monitor is old and that is its maximum.
Don't rush to buy new video card if you are not playing at high resolution, just because your current card will probably run it perfectly. But if you have funds and wish to upgrade your configuration GTX 970 will be perfect choice as Evident said.
