hey guys, ive been having issues with my monitor/tv (dont mind me too much.. all i have that is above 1024x768 is a tv) this started happening about a month or so ago.. the monitor has been showing the wrong resolution or is just not displaying correctly..

the native resolution is 1440x900 but it used to display1280x720 and 1920x1080I fine.. and now its a little zoomed in (refer to the pictures)

720p

and this is at 1080I

and this is native (1440x900)

woah those are huge in the editor.. hopefully they resized when i post this...

at first i thought it was an update to my apu driver (at the time i had an apu) and now that im on my gtx 750 ti the problem hasnt stopped...

first time i noticed the problem is when i was playing minecraft and the hotbar was half offscreen and the first time i expected something being wrong is when i tried playing fallout: New vegas the resolution was set to 1280x1024 when i set it to 1280x720 02ymJ2g.jpg

this is what happened with fnv, taken about a month and a half ago.. dont have it installed anymore or the game shared with me on steam

ive got no idea how to deal with this and ive got nowhere or anyone to go that knows anything about computers :/

since the pictures are still huge, but visible i hope that its fine.. theres no spoiler tag that i can see.. also didnt know where to post this so i put it in the displays area...

a moderator can move this to the right place if its not in the right spot

This is called overscan. It's the TV's fault. If the TV has its own menu, look for a setting called Scan Settings or something like that, and set it to Just Scan, 1:1, or something similar.

I didn't start the topic, but thanks! Thanks a lot @Glenwing, I was stuck at 1842 x 1036 (Downsized 1080p with nvidia CPanel) since when I bought my 970 (A month ago) and now this solved it!

there isnt an overscan option on my tvs control panel and the set size sets the resolution to 1202x676... also this isnt just for my desktop, this is for various games that only support their native resolutions heres an imgur gallery for all my tv settings and the nvidia resolution http://imgur.com/a/LpjhJ

Ok. It would have been one of the options under Size, but I guess they don't have a 1:1 pixel mapping option... That's pretty idiotic. Unfortunately you're out of luck, the TV is zooming the image it receives and doesn't have a way to disable it.

My TV is the same which is why I assumed he could just use a custom resolution as that is what worked for my TV

Yeah, you can compensate on the computer, but you're essentially sending a downscaled image which is then upscaled again by the TV, which ends up with a much blurrier image than it should be. I guess it technically will make the image fit the screen though. He'd have to play around with different resolutions.

usually setting the resolution down a notch sets it to a somewhat correct resolution, for example for 720p i set it to 1176x664.. but the thing is when i do that its smaller in the picture xD .. and natively theres no such thing as 664p on youtube and whatnot
