Laptop for Uni

Hello,

I am looking for a Laptop to buy for University and could use some help. The laptop should fulfill the following criteria:

The laptop absolutely needs to have a resolution of 1080p or higher. I've used nothing else for the past 5 years and lower resolution simly doesn't look nice to me anymore.

The laptop should be relatively small, preferably 14 inches or smaller. It should also be fairly lightweight since I'm planning to carry it around a lot.

Other things that would be nice, but are not necessary:

I feel like it would be good if the CPU was a 5th gen i3 or i5 (i7 would of course be epic but I doubt I could afford that).

Decent build quality is obviously nice. Aluminium would be great, but, yet again, I doubt I'll be able to afford it.

The laptop does not need to run games. I have a desktop PC for gaming.

What I basicly want to know is what is the minimum amount of money I need to buy a laptop meeting that criteria in Europe. Also, what are some laptops I should consider?

P. S. The OS does not matter as I will install Ubuntu anyway. Thus, Chromebooks are fine.

Asus UX305 if you want a quality ultraportable.

Otherwise, something like a Lenovo G50-70, or an Asus X555LD.Maybe an Acer Aspire E5-571G-33V0. Those are pretty cheap(~$400) and pretty powerful.

Need to go cheaper?Then Asus X551 @ ~$250 :

It is really light.

Of course, you can still pick a chromebook.

i5 4670k @ 4.2GHz (Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo); ASrock Z87 EXTREME4; 8GB Kingston HyperX Beast DDR3 RAM @ 2133MHz; Asus DirectCU GTX 560; Super Flower Golden King 550 Platinum PSU;1TB Seagate Barracuda;Corsair 200r case.

Most of these are either 15 inch or bigger or not FHD, thanks though.

Also, why are chromebooks so funny? I thought they were just ultrabooks with ChromeOS?

Wow, that is cheap, and yes, I am looking for something cheap, but I doubt the Transformer will cut it.

Intel Atom and 2GB RAM won't really work for me I'm afraid.
