I can buy a used EVGA 690 from my brother barley used for $400

Or just add the money for a new 980? My case / psu can support both so no worries there, cooling will be fine as well.

Just curious as to what one to get.

(I will be gaming on two 1920x1080 monitors)

Fuck I'd take a 970 over a 690 let alone a 980. DX12 and hdmi2.0 alone are enough for me to make that decision.

even a 970 should be enough, i'd get a 9xx card instead of a 6xx because of power consumption. personally, i would go for a 970 or save more money on a 980ti

Ehh, I'm not really worried about power consumption I just want the higher fps card what will be future proof for gaming, etc. I think I'm more leaning on a 980.

IMO the only nvidia cards worth getting right now are 750ti, 970 and 980ti. I'd get a 900 series card over a dual gpu 600 series card any day. 980 is way too expensive for what it is. It made sense when it was the strongest gpu out there, but right now I don't see a reason to get it.

Didn't think I'd get so many replies so fasts. Is the added $150ish for the 980 worth it? As in will it get higher fps in newer games, ark survival evolved, etc.

Not at 1080P unless you dont plan on upgrading the GPU for another 3 or 4 years. The 980ti is for high end 1440p and mid range 4k gaming respectively.

Handing out TechRx's
