As far as i know there's no easy solution to this, and even if there was, i wouldn't do it because you state the 60GB SSD is old. 

A failure is not what you want if they share a partition.

I would just use them as separate drives.

Even if it was possible, not only do you have the fact that it's old and therefore the flash chips are heavily used, but also the drive will likely be slower than the newer drive, causing that old SSD to be a bottleneck.
