Speaker Showdown: SP2500 vs Audioengine A5+

ElKanyeEast

Hello all, how's your day going?

I'm planning on buying a set of speakers for myself, as all I have are the speakers on my 2011 MBP 13 and my ATH-M50's. I was thinking about getting the audioengine A5+, but then I watched Friday's livestream and saw that Slick got the SP2500's, and Linus also ordered a second pair. The SP2500's are also half the price of the A5+'s, so should I go with the 2500's or are the A5+'s that much better. I listen to Hip-Hop, Rap, things with bass, but I would also be using my HD-650's (Whenever I buy them) for music, since the main purpose for these are casual listening and gaming. Thanks for your help :).

PS: I'll be pairing these with an E7, E9 combo

Hmm.. yeah i've been wondering the same thing.. Although you can connect a powered sub up to the A5+'s. I've got a Asus Xonar STX to pair them with. Let me know what u decide and how you like them.

I'd go for this set over either the a5's or the sp2500
