Hey guys, this may be a really stupid question but i'm at a loss so i'll ask anyways. I'm about to order a second gtx 980 and I plan on running them in SLI. Will I run into any issues with overheating or temps in general? If so, what would be the most effective way to keep the GPU's cool besides spacing them a slot apart.

Even if you have two open designs, if you can install a side fan, you can set it to exhaust to pull the heat away from the cards. Technically liquid cooling is the most efficient way of cooling them.

Your cards should be fine if you have decent airflow, but you would be better off with water-cooling or reference cards.

The top card will usually have higher temps the the card below it, but it will all depend on the airflow of your case. As other have said water cooling a card is the best way to keep them cool, but there nothing wrong with the stock coolers that come on it if you have good airflow in the case.
