Multipurpose $350 set up..

Venum

What specs would be best in building a entry level machine?

I'm building this secondary set up as torrent rig/online games/browsing.

At least can run most games on medium settings.( I'm not gonna be playing on this rig all the time)

The budget is only for the CPU, no extra peripherals needed.

But I do need an OS since I'm gonna do a clean install.

Please feel free to post any specs that would be bang for the buck. Peace out!

I assume by CPU you mean computer, and not actual CPU...

CPU: AMD A10-5800K 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor ($129.99 @ Newegg)

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ Newegg)

Motherboard: ASRock FM2A75 Pro4-M Micro ATX FM2 Motherboard ($71.97 @ Newegg)

Memory: G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory ($49.98 @ Outlet PC)

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($49.98 @ Outlet PC)

Power Supply: Corsair Builder 430W 80 PLUS Certified ATX12V Power Supply ($34.99 @ Newegg)

Total: $354.90

This build is pretty good. For $350, this is really the best you can get. This one has a much better hard drive, but otherwise is pretty much the same as Helltechs(with a case though).http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Ctn7

My Rig:

  • CPU: 1090T@4.1ghz
  • GPU: Gigabyte 7870
  • MOBO: Crosshair Formula V
  • RAM: 8GB 1333mhz
  • PSU: 650w corsair HX
  • SSD: 120GB Kingston HyperX
  • Sound card: Asus Xonar DX

I don't think MrWatch is aware but when with APUs the speed of the RAM matter GREATLY. Benchmarks shows that 2133Mhz is much better than 1600 or even 1800Mhz for your FPS.
