Hardline tubing on H220 ?

Hello,

My friend has a H220, but the tubes are too long, as on most H220's.

He would like to know if he could replace the tubing with hardline 10/16mm, or if that would not work with the included barbs on the H220 ( if not, then I'l just shorten the tubing for him )

Thanks !

Yes you can but it does require an adapter to let you connect to a standard G1/4 fitting to hookup the hardline compression fittings:

That's the 220-x

he has the older H220 ( the barbs can't be changed )

Good point, you would be correct it's not possible to do so on the rads, the Pump/waterblock does have screw on barbs that can be adapted to that G1/4 but might have clearance issues.

The barbs on the rad are permanently fixed into place and aren't the standard screw on barbs so it can't be changed to hardline unfortunately:

Just shorten the tubing man, you can't do hardline tubing with that unit, and you can always customize it a little if he doesn't like the look (Change fluid, tubing, etc)

That's what I was dreading :/

The barbs look like they could have hardline slid on, but I doubt the airtight ness of the seal http://www.swiftech.com/MCR-H220-RADIATOR.aspx

Those barbs look like they would not like it :/

That's what I'l do,

It's sad, hardline would only have been 3€ +2€ for the silicone insert

Thanks @W-L and @tomas710 for the help
