I am building my first pc build in the next couple of days and I am very new. I have been using a gaming laptop up until now and I need this build to play modded skyrim, witcher 3, League of Legends, MGS 5 (HYPE), and Fallout 4. Anyway as I said I am new and I dont want to make a mistake in choosing parts so I would like you guys to look over my build for issues and parts that are the same price that should be replaced with a better one.

Build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/WDxPqs

Questions:

1:Should I replace the cpu with the newer i5-6600K 6M Skylake cpu. I heard that it would require a different mobo. If so what should i replace it with?

2: Can I overclock with this cooler?

3: Is this monitor a good choice for a 144hz monitor for the price?

4: What other cases do you recommend? I am a sucker for a blocky red and black case with showing buttons, fans, and usb ports on the front.

5: Is the wireless adapter good and what do recommend as a alternative?

6: What do you think could be improved in the build?

Thank you guys so much. I would like it if all parts are color coded red and black. Stay relatively in the price in my build. Finally, give any advice whether its mods i should get for skyrim or  youtube videos I should watch for help. Thanks again!

@JasterMareel   Get a 6600k, it uses less power, and its newer, so why not get it -Lenny Face-

Get whatever motherboard that fits your purposes! If you use a 6600k and a z170mobo, with that cooler, you can OC it, hope this post helped a couple of questions!

MOTHERBOARD: some Asus motherboard CPU: I3-4130 GPU: Gigabyte(?) GT-1030 RAM: 8GB G.SKILL SNIPER 1600MHZ RAM + 4GB AMD ram PSU: Corsair CX450 CASE: Corsair Spec-03 OS: Win 10 64 bit Keyboard: Logitech G510s Mouse: Corsair G300s Camera: Canon EOS Rebel T5

1) If you decide to change to skylake, you would need a new Z170 Chipset motherboard, together with DDR4 RAM. The performance increase is minimal, and prices of the new parts are probably still dropping. If you have the budget you could go for it, but for now Haswell is still reliable.

2) Yes you can, but not excessively much (Maybe 4.3-4.5Ghz depending on silicone lottery). That is a budget CPU cooler, although it performs great for its price.

3) That monitor seems good enough.

4) Cant help you here, sorry.

5) Wireless adapter is okay too.

6) You can upgrade the CPU cooler, or change to 2x4GB of RAM instead of 1x8GB.

Instead of a single 8GB stick of RAM, get a 2x4 kit. It'll be a faster than just a single stick (10-15%). Also, I would suggest saving yourself some money and buying the EVGA 750W B2 PSU. It's only $60 after rebate (although you can find it for as low as $50), and you don't need the extra 100W anyways. As for the wireless adapter, I'm currently using this: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-wireless-network-card-gcwb867di. It gives good stable speeds while also providing support for 802.11ac and bluetooth 4.0

CPU - Intel i7-4790k | CPU Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO | Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-Z97-HD3 (Rev 2.0) | RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws X 16GB (2x8) DDR3-1866 | Storage - Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD | Graphics Card - EVGA GeForce GTX 980ti SC | Case - Fractal Design Define R5 w/Window (Black) | PSU - EVGA 750W B2 | Display - Acer K272HUL | Keyboard - E-Element RGB | Mouse - Logitech g502 | Sound - Klipsch ProMedia 2.1/Fostex TH-x00/Sennheiser HD595

So besides those motherboards there are not any others i can use? Also do I have to use ddr4 ram?
