So my uncle asked me to build a pretty sick workstation for simple video editing and music/video capture. He also wanted a lot of storage and some other stuff.
I will ofc play around with this myself but i'm not that super knowledgeable when it comes to stuff like xeon processors, etc and I have a lot of work to do the following days so i'm asking you guys to make some build suggestions as well.
Budget is around 20,000 SEK (around 2,400 USD) (can go over budget if it's worth it) for the computer itself.

It dossn't have to have any super fancy custom water cooling or looks but should have audio in (some kind of audiophile input to the sound card. He was a bit unclear of what he meant there) and obviously high end workstation CPU, GPU and RAM.

So go nuts, bring on the suggestions and I will look into it. Arguments for chosen parts are also welcome!
Thanks! :D

-snip-

basicly this makes my work redundant.

i'd maybe add a sound card and capture card in for video capturing, and extra audio I/O (i'm not an audio guy myself, but i'd use the heck out of an extra sound card)

The 6-core/12-thread cpu with 32GB of memory should provide enough power for video editing and music/video capture.

The 4-lane PCIe M.2 drive provides storage performance up to 4 times faster than SATA III drives. Storage requirements were rather vague so I have included two 4TB hdd. The case has enough room for much more.

The X99-Pro/USB 3.1 motherboard has excellent sound. If it does not offer required connectors, there are numerous USB devices and add-on cards available that will.

The cpu cooler and case are intended to provide quiet operation.

Depending on the software used, the gpu should provide decent acceleration of editing and rendering tasks while managing multiple displays.

Thanks a lot for the replies!

Looks really good, i'll look more into it tomorrow when I have the time.

Prices seem very good, hopefully it's not so much more expensive here in Sweden.

Keep the suggestions coming everyone! ^_^

@007agentHP, X99 supports quad channel memory operation. Two single stick memory kits will at best provide dual channel operation, but even that is not certain. Quad channel memory operation can make a noticeable performance difference in the work contemplated for this build.
