Phanteks PH-tc14pe

Go to solution Solved by tomas710,

Is it more quiet than my h55 and what about the efficiency?

It performs MUCH better and quieter. The performance is very close to a noctua NH-D15 or a Thermalright Silver arrow, but at a lower price and much cooler color schemes. I feel like i have to mention the Silver Arrow cause of your color scheme

http://www.amazon.com/Thermalright-Silver-Arrow-IB-E-Extreme/dp/B00IYS6RF2

But i would totally go with Phanteks, quiet, very high performing and in a bunch of colors. Also, it includes very high quality thermal paste, so don't waste money buying another one.

So, im building a pc with an orange/black colorscheme, and recently fell in love with the phanteks PH-tc14pe, how does it perform and what is the noise levels of the fans?

NH-D14 /15 is better has 6 heat pipe on each side. PH-tc14pe has 5.

if you're going for look, PH-tc14pe looks better because u can choose the colour.

in performance, if you going  to cool an i5 or i7 its fine.

Im going to cool a 4690k running 4.3 ghz. Will it perform better and more quiet than a h55?

Very nice, thanks!!

Yeah it will be quieter. Definitely. I'm pretty sure it's performance will also be better than the H55

Thanks! :-)

Do you know if its easy to paint the fan "shell" black or something?

It could be done but it wouldn't be very easy. Would have to make off the blades quite well. Wouldn't recommend it if you've never tried it before as you wouldn't want to mess up some good fans. But it would technically be possible

Thats because, the phanteks fans has a white shell, And i dont know if it will look good in a orange/black build :-)

Well, if it really bothers you, you could get the orange PH-tc14pe and get a pair of black fans, or a different orange fan

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4UF1H80571&cm_re=cryorig-_-9SIA4UF1H80571-_-Product

http://www.amazon.com/Thermalright-TY-143-High-speed-bearing/dp/B009QGHQ1K/ref=pd_sim_147_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=1FQJX63JHGPXDYFX055S

It would perform pretty much the same and same sounds levels (thermalright, phanteks, noctua and cryorig make very similar heatsink fans) but being totally honest, i think it's a waste of money, it's just a little white :P

So, im building a pc with an orange/black colorscheme, and recently fell in love with the phanteks PH-tc14pe, how does it perform and what is the noise levels of the fans?

Yeah I understand that. That's the reason I didn't go with their red one for my build. Could look at be quiets dark rock pro 3? Very similar cooler but it's all black. I have the pro 2 myself and I can say it's an excellent cooler. Absolutely silent and looks pretty nice. Dunno what prices are compared to Phanteks. Would assume similar

I think an all black comparable alternative would be the CRYORIG R1 Ultimate, a bit more expensive but performs a bit better. I still think phanteks is the best choice for him.

Well, if you plan on using LEDs, any white will look orange. I use an NZXT LED strip, no problems with it and i think it comes in orange. It's also considerably cheaper compared to other LED strips since they sell 1 or 2 meters long, which actually is not that much, 2 meters was perfect for my Cosmos SE

The bitfenix Alchemy strips are great, but more expensive, and they just released magnetic strips (AWESOME) but not in orange...

I have just ordered custom sleeved cables for my build, and bought a rgb led strip with controller, it was fairly cheap :-)
