I have a pair of the M50x and I've heard the same thing. I just assumed it was an internal part that was clicking the cup into place when it rotates all the way out.

You know, for all those hip cool DJ types that enjoy one ear listening.

LOOK AT THAT,LIKE THAT  ?

the left side is not noticable, you hear there the plastic hit the plastic because it was hard for me to use only one hand

When you rotate the cup to where the ear pads are facing out and away from where your ears normally are. Such that the Audio Technica logo are facing inwards towards each other.

OH so it is the same i dont know how to call it in english, rail maybe ?

mine is also like that, asked some one and his headphones are clicky and loud in the left size

in the end it is not a problem at all...... thank you for helping.....
