Today I received my XFX reference R9 290 from a seller on eBay. Card is immaculately (was used for mining for 2 months). I received everything with the card, but the serial number on the warrenty information is different to the one on the on the cards sticker. Just wondering if they are ment to be linked or if I could just use the one on the information piece of paper with the serial number on the card?

Thanks,

Paddy.

Warranty? eBay?

You got ripped off. The serial numbers need to correspond.

If it was used for mining I wouldn't stress it too much (or hope that it lasts too long). That's 2 months of 24/7 operation at, presumably, full load.

More than full load - furmark-style load.

didn't want to go deeper into the subject

My dad used to have a 2-way GTX770 SLI. Both cards were used for BTC mining for about 5 months. Needless to say one of the cards is now about as dead as a dodo and I expect the second one will follow (since the card that still works was the second GPU, it might have been spared from too much load on my dad's rig)

I'll just message the guy he will hopefully still have it kicking around, if not I'm not that bothered about it.

I'd get a refund, a mined card without a warranty is worthless.
