No, that isn't a problem.

The only thing to notice is, that you're limiting your overclocked Inno3D to a slower clock speed, because they both have to run at the same speed.

By custom i assume you mean an aftermarket card, if so yes it is fine as long as they are the same card with the same amount of VRAM.

yes an aftermarket with an custom cooler, do i have to clock them the same?(I'm noob with sli so exuse me ;) )

No they will automatically run at the same clock speed.

They will automatically clock themselves. You can manually overclock them if you like using Afterburner or PercisionX

ok thank you, is there anything else to know?

That specific 580W PSU should have no problems with that load. I doubt that your system would be pulling more than 480-500W at absolute full load and OC, and beQuiet make beefy things.

When in doubt, re-format.

so i schould be ok with the 580w ? Because in Linus' video about SLI Performance Scaling his 2x Gtx 980 draws 370W from the wall with an AX1500i 80+Titanium, an i think that 2 80+ stages won't make an 200W diffrence.

Heyyo,

Just a heads up, some users have had problems enabling SLI on GTX 970s from different brands (mainly I think it's reference and non-reference boards, not coolers). It can be easily resolved with DifferentSLIAuto.

https://github.com/EmberVulpix/DifferentSLIAuto/releases

Of course, this can also be avoided by having a matching pair of brand and model GPUs.

No they don't. One can definitely run at a higher clockspeed than the other. It will, however, cause some stutter and gains won't be as high, but it WILL run at asynchronous speeds. It's best to overclock the slower one or downclock the faster one.

No they will automatically run at the same clock speed.

No they won't, see above.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.
