Do tell me where i have gone wrong. I will be using this for gaming and will be overclocking. I am also going to use an old GTX 970 strix for my build. I am going to have the 2 HDD in raid 0.

Why did you choose an AMD processor at this price point? Intel is a much better option. Even stock an i5-4690K will outperform a 9590.

If you can, even go for an i7-4790K.

I'm assuming you will use the old Strix 970 in SLI with the new one? Other than that, it's great.

Don't get an FX-9590 it's a waste of money especially since it's just a slightly upgraded 8320. and not very strong compared to Intel

Why not a liquid cooler? Also, I think he will be running the old 970 in SLI so he will need to buy an the same model card.

I actually didn't read the part about him already having a 970. I just changed it on the list cause i prefer MSI.

I was trying to keep it more cost friendly, although an h100i would be able to fit in with how much he was going to spend

Hi , I think you can make it better by using a i5 processor and a better gpu . I have made a fantastic article on it on my blog . A 1550 dollar gaming pc .

I think you will get some help from here : www.xtremegaminerd.com/build-a-1550-dollars-overwhelming-gaming-computer

this is the best gaming computer you can have at this price . I bet although you will not get a good cpu cooler in my build

one thing more my friend . AMD 9590 consumes more than double power as compared to core i5's so don't go with it

Hey there Umegadem,

I wouldn't use the two WD Blue drives in a RAID array. Generally, I wouldn't recommend having non-NAS/RAID class drives in a RAID array because these drives lack the extra features that would enable them to work safer, smoother and with much lower chances of dropping out of the RAID and causing data loss. I would use something like WD Red: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=AqTxL0

Captain_WD.

If this helped you, like and choose it as best answer - you might help someone else with the same issue. ^_^
