Thats correct in what its doing, click start. See on Target disk it shows "Disk 2" as 232gb, thats the new ssd. The "C:" that is greyed out is showing you its copying it from the old drive above to the one below.

Yeah i know its weird. See where on the Target Disk section it has the drive letter box to the right, click that and change it to F: thats the letter of the new drive.

Nope, Old hdd is 150gb new ssd is 250gb

Yeah I understand now. It still seems to be doing the right thing though, copying the C: partition of 143gb to the 250gb new drive, just the titles both show the new drive. I guess its worth a shot to press start. you can always erase the drive.

So after further research Samsung shows that the new ssd should be connected via usb. Then it should pop up seperate.

I have used EaseUS Todo Backup to clone my drives and that also worked out well. For that program you wont need to connect via usb.

It has to be?

That's pretty lame if that's so but that should not be the case...

I think I found out what the problem is...

"I have done it directly using SATA connectors in the PC. You have to set your boot order to the HDD then the SSD, run their migration software, and it should automatically change the boot order for you, but if it doesn't, manually change it."

I have my disk readers as second to launch so maybe thats the problem, let me try it.

Sems to be that way, pretty stupid if you ask me. The EaseUS Todo backup was so simple, you select ur main drive and your other drive and it clones it. Dont need a usb or anything.
