So from past few days i am getting hard Freeze, this happes randomly, not a fixed time....

While i am playing bf4 ,the game/full pc freezes,i can see the Hdd indicator light stops blinking as well

In normal times i don't get any freezes, i did mem, gpu, cpu test but it came out clear... What is the problem and how do i fix this and is this problem from my end or many users have already faced this ?

PC specs (can see on my account)

Then also just the basics

Intel Core i7 4790k

Ripjwaws 1333 mhz (4 x 2) 8.00 GB

Corsair VS 650

Asus Strix Gtx 970 OC Edition

Thank you

go to nvidia drivers set maximum pre rendered frames to 1 instead of auto

aswell set threaded optimization to off, check if it causes freezes quicker or actually reduces it

Okay i will try and mark this solved if that works but something telling me it won't

pre rendered frames can cause bsods even and lockups... i doubt it will fully fix it... but if it does change the way it behaves or how often it crashes it could be ram related eventhough u pass memtest86 doesnt mean it is stable ( or prime95 blend ) ... if the pre rendered frames actually does change its behavior make sure to do a custom prime95 stability test allocating all of ur ram to it ( with 8gb thats usually around 6300-6700mb depending on how much ram u use when booted up ) for a full pass of the custom prime u need to run it for atleast 22-24hr ( usually the run finishes entirely after 21hr )... keep in mind if custom prime is actually stable for 21hr+ u can put ram out of the picture aswell as cpu/hardware problems... its entirely dependant on software causing the lockups then

Its already on auto/Use the application settings._.

if u read my post u can see that i say INSTEAD OF AUTO... in otherwords CHANGE IT TO 1 and OFF

auto and auto = bad... or auto and enabled   @ prerender and thread optimization

btw what could also be the issue causing it is disk cache... since u say ur hdd locks up... it could be that having the disk cache enabled is causing the lockups... set it to disabled aswell

disk cache = shader cache btw
