Steam backup

So i used steams back up system and backed up a couple of games. After wiping pc is it as easy as re-installing the games and restoring them files through the steam client?

i would just copy the steam folder game saves just in case

Yes you can easily restore it with the steam client. I use this all the time to backup games to a different disk before uninstalling them. I don't want to be have to download them again as data caps are a problem. Also if you and your friends play the same game then only one person needs to download it.

never thought about 1 person downloading it, but now i upgraded internet its not too bad =]
