It's usually not recommended to RAID two different SSDs. Bad things may happen. What sizes are the SSD drives? I would recommend just leaving them separate though.

You can raid 2 different SDDs just fine, however in case they're not the same size you will be limited to the smallest drive (using HW raid, with SW raid you can still partition the other part) and speed will be limited to the slowest drive. Other than that you'll lose some features like TRIM (unless your controller supports it, which is not common) and always remember that raid != backup

Sure you can. But you won't be using RAID 10 or 01. Either require 4 drives minimum. Two mirrored and two striped.

 

You can use onboard Motherboard RAID such as the Intel Rapid Storage. The specific instructions would depend on the model of Motherboard you have.

 

You could also use software based RAID via Windows or Linux or 3rd party utilities. Though I'd just stick with Motherboard RAID.

 

Furthermore, the amount of usable space will depend on the type of RAID.

 

If RAID 1, then the space will equal the capacity of the smaller SSD, if there is a size difference (If identical, it will equal the capacity of one SSD, not both).

 

If RAID 0, the available space will equal twice the capacity of the smaller SSD. If the SSD's are different sizes, then the difference in capacity between the smaller and bigger one will be wasted, regardless of RAID 1 vs RAID 0.

 

And just a quick rundown: RAID 1 is Mirrored, both drives contain identical data. RAID 0 is striped, the two drives are combined to make one bigger drive.
