Windows 10 search not working.

I've recently upgraded to Windows 10 and the search function in the start menu isn't working. I do this by pressing start then typing, which should bring up the appropriate apps but it doesn't. It works a couple of times when I first boot up my pc, then it stops working until the next restart. I just get the blue moving dots at the top.

How do I fix this?

I'm intrigued here as well as I can't seem to get it to work, it was working about 20 minutes ago and now doesn't seem to do anything.

Sometimes ending the Cortana process fixes it, but it usually doesn't.

Is for me, yeah.
