black screen after loading counter strike server

For the past couple days every time I try to join a community server in counter strike my displays go black and my monitor says no signal. I have the lastest drivers from nvidia. I also played other games like rocket league and I was fine with no crashing. When my screen goes black I can hear my friends in my skype call and the only way to get my display back is to restart my computer. Also it happens most of the time but no always. is there anyone else who has had this problem. Its only when i try and join a server.
