How do i remove the fan on AMD stock heatsink

YT2002
Go to solution Solved by Valkyrie Lenneth,

It is really flush against the metal

check this.. imagine the red line is the screwdriver, the yellow(push screwdriver down thus causing leverage, to the heatsink) and the green is where u put the flat tip ( press it under the plastic, dont worry its not fragile really )

should easily pop off once u know how ( had troubles in the begin too but now il pop em in seconds )

Forgot about that one, but you should be able to fit a flathead screwdriver in the gap and pry the tabs back(while pulling the fan up)

u dont need to touch the fan at all, its just loosen on there... u just need to pop the plastic clips to the sides ( away from its clipping slot )

i can pop them with knives too ( not recommended if u dont know how haha )

ALright, your method worked

PC is Intel Core i5 6400, GIgabyte H170 Gaming 3, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x4GB 2400Mhz ,Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB, WD Blue 1TB, NZXT S340, ASUS Geforce GTX 960. Fractal Design Tesla R2 650W. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/793XNG. Graphics card choices don't always have to be dictated on performance. If you want the game stream and power consumption of the GTX 970 get that. If you want raw performance of the R9 390 get that. In the end we are all gamers, so what if your buddy gets an extra 5 fps?
