As you seem to have alot of freaking money why i would go for the superclocked and put a custom loop in there.

Also motherboard recommendations: Asus Maximus VIII Hero tho it only supports SLI not 3 way SLI :(

You wouldn't get that score and 3 way SLI wouldn't go well on that CPU at least get X99

I'm trying to get that score, or as close as I can.

Well then get X99, Skylake isn't much improvement from haswell but either way you're probably gonna bottleneck

Only motherboards I know of that supports it is Gigabyte Z170X Gaming G1, EVGA FTW and Asrock Extreme 7 but again you shouldn't 3 way SLI especially with Skylake

Some manufactures that makes water cooling stuff also make everything you need in 1 box.

So you can order 1 box and you get all the stuff you need. Fittings, tubes, blocks, radiators and reservoirs.

I don't actually think he will get a bottleneck, maybe a minor in some games but skylake is actually very powerful and with DX12 decreasing the games load on the cpu i think he is fine.

And a 4790k and 980ti sli works fine and 3 way doesn't give a huge amount of performance boost so it should work.

And he will probably play at 4k with that beast rig so.

I dont think there will be a bottleneck.
