first water cooling build tips

one thing i really need to know for when i set my loop up is how much do i need to fill the reservoir? do i need to leave a bit of space at the top or do i need to fill it right to the top as much as i can before i cap it off?

Well, while the system is being flushed (the tubes and blocks are being filled with water), every time you cut the power to the pump you wait until the reservoir is about 1/4 full, and then fill it back up to 3/4. 

 

But when everything's filled up, you fill it all the way to the top.

yer i understand the filling technique i was just unsure of the point where its all full whether or not u need to leave a little bit of air at the top of the reservoir

No you do not. In fact, you do not want any air bubbles in your system at all, this will increase noise and work less effectively. 

ok thanks for the info, also im using just a clear cooling fluid. i didnt want to push to the coloured fluid for the fist build incase i had problems and needed to flush it out. would getting colour be as easy ads just to buy a dye and add some drops

Air at the top of the res, if both the input, and outputs are at the bottom should be fine.

 

Filling all the way to the top is more of an aesthetic thing, as droplets wont be able to form on the inside of the res...

Filling it to the top in my opinion is silly due to thermal expansion.
