I'd go with the elgato. A friend uses it and has had no problems so far.

Live Gamer HD by far is better because it is a PCI express capture card. My friend has a dual pc stream setup and he uses the Live Gamer HD

Did your friend follow a tutorial for the set up? Because that what I want to do

No we figured it out on our own, it was a pain in the ass but we got it working.
