I bought this laptop from a friend that said it wouldn't power on and kept restarting at the screen that says the manufacturer's name. I immediately knew it was the hard drive and bought it off of him for cheap. I put a new copy of windows 7 home premium on it and VOILA, a functioning laptop!

See, this is where the problem happens. So I can't tell if caps lock, num lock, or scr lock (I think thats what it is) are on or not. With my other laptop, an symbol of whatever I presses would pop up in the middle of the screen. I am wondering if it is even possible to get that on this laptop or if ill just have to live with it.

Look for lights. Otherwise, there must be some software solution out there.

Dunno about Windows, but Gnome has an extension that does just that.
