So a while ago I bought a OCZ 650w modular PSU and i tried sleeving the cables and i destroyed the 20+4 pin cable. Every other cable is fine. But i was wondering. can i get any 20+4 pin cable or does it need to be specific to that brand? I ask because things like the corsair sleeved cables say they are only for corsair PSUs. so i figured its better to ask then to waste my money. Also. could someone tell me of a place i could find one? I havent looked yet but i plan too :D

Thanks

To be on the safe side I would get one from the same brand/model of PSU.

Setup: i5 4670k @ 4.2 Ghz, Corsair H100i Cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB Ram @ 1600 Mhz, MSI Z87-GD65 Motherboard, Corsair GS700 2013 edition PSU, MSI GTX 770 Lightning, Samsung EVO 120 SSD + 2TB&1TB Seagate Barracudas, BenQ XL2411T Monitor, Sennheiser HD 598 Headphones + AntLion ModMic 4.0

I would highly recommend getting it from the original manufacturer, unless you manage to find a picture of the side that goes into the PSU so you can compare it to yours, I bought the sleeved cables from corsair and they actually didn't work (so even within corsair it looks like they have differences), then I bought just the motherboard cable and for some reason it came with a whole kit which actually worked (not sure how that happened, but at least I got what I wanted).

You can kind of see the connections on the pictures in this one, you could try checking to see if it fits your PSU.

Oh... I guess I failed on that one :D

Well just be careful with what you buy, maybe someone on here has the same PSU as you and can help you out.

how did you destroy it?

Melted the wires and messed up where they were supposed to go.

If the plug that goes into the PSU is still intact, you could make your own.

But i dont have the tools and it will probably cost more money to do that.

It's essentially the same as sleeving the cables, all that's different is you need to put the end plugs on the cables.

Well again, I dont have the tools to do that im sure that will cost even more and when i was sleeving the cables they were all crriscrossed and weird so i dont know how it was mapped and what not.

And you should have recorded which pins connected to which when you took it all apart.

I did but I have since lost the paper. I tried sleeving months ago.

I dont have the crimping tool though so those are useless.
