Upgrading My GPU

Go to solution Solved by pomaranc,

as I have a budget, should I get the 960 or the 970. Do you think the 960 is good for the price or is it  worth it to just get the 970? thanks for the replies so far

970 has much better price/performance ratio.

960 is not really worth the money and it also won't be that big improvement form 750ti, 970 is roughly twice as powerfull as 750ti.

I have a EVGA GTX 750 ti FTW edition GPU and have seen that I have been getting loads of 100 percent while playing games such as advanced warfare. I want to upgrade my GPU but I want it to still be a nVidia GPU and to be in the price range of £100 to £200 great british pounds as I am 15 years old. I am not sure whether to buy a evga gtx 960, the 4 GB model or any other GPU. I want a GPU that is a good price and that would fit my specs.

CPU: Intel i5 4690

GPU: evga gtx 750 ti FTW

PSU: corsair cx 600 m

RAM: corsair vengeance 2 4 GB ( 8GB total 2 4 GB dims)

MOBO: msi z87 g43

HDD: western digital caviar blue 1TB

SSD: samsung evo 120GB

if you find a more pricey GPU I will consider it as long as it fits my specs.

if you have a recommendation for a pre filled CPU cooler it would help, im not sure to buy a 120mm or a 240 mm in a nzxt h440 case. Many Thanks, Linus stop wearing freaking socks and sandles

if getting an nvidia your only option is the gtx 960 4gb model is only in your price range but i would suggest the gtx 970 if at all possible

<p>Wish I could have this already!! : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qTLRjX

why are you buying AIO cooler for a non k processor? Spend the money on a better gpu.

Anyways in your price range i would either get a r9 280x or the 380 4gb (no 960 4gb). But if you can save up for a r9 290 or even the gtx 970

The 960 is a reasonable card, but the best card in that price range would probably be the r9 280x/r9 380. The 970 is a very good price-performance card, I saw a Zotac for a little over 238.

Yep AiO is pretty much pointless for locked CPUs.

I still have a stock cooler on the CPU should I leave that on or just get a new air cooler?

Get an air cooler, CM212 is dirty cheap and does the job well, and if you want AiO just so it looks nicer in your H440 get single fan one, they are not better than same priced air coolers but they look better. Also your stock cooler should be enough but it would just look bad in such a nice case and it will be probably loud as well.

thanks, I have decided on that cooler that you have said and have even found it in my local store which is surprising. Thank you so much for the replies, you have solved both of my questions in one post
