Need help picking a gpu

Go to solution Solved by richie12346,

Thank you very much guys! This really helped my decision and I have decided to go for the Msi r9 390 since it looks better since that goes after my color scheme.

Eh, sorry for reacting slightly sharply :D

Well, there are exceptions to everything but for the most part CF is easier to pull off since you don't have to buy the exact same thing and they both usually run around 25-50% scaling, some games like Tomb Raider make good use of 2 GPUs.

the compatibility is better on CF - definetly. also you dont need a SLI-bridge. Drivers have been shit on both Nvidia and AMD every now and then so I also can't use that as an argument anymore.

My R9 290s have issues and my CF runs shit - that's all I can say :P

R9 390 is more futureproof imo. They trade blows in most games and sometimes R9 390 pulls ahead. Only get the 970 if you are concerned about power consumption, otherwise go for R9 390. Brands I'd suggest - Sapphire, Powercolor and MSI.

Which brand would you suggest is a little bit better than the other?

I'd personally go for Sapphire Nitro R9 390. The cooler is capable of keeping the card cool and it looks sexy imo. :D However check if your case can fit it because that thing is long ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). Can you also mention what's your power supply?

The case I will be using is the cm storm trooper and the psu is an evga supernova g1 750w.

Based on reviews it seems like the MSI runs a few degrees hotter than the Sapphire (68 for sapphire and 72 for msi). However these values may vary depending on your airflow. Both are great cards and choosing between them is mostly based on personal preference. :P
