Im building a PC for using some software called MATLAB and Solidworks. Long story short, I dont need more than a few cores and I want to know if this build needs a GPU. The graphics solution needs to be slightly better than the latest version of Intel's onboard stuff.   http://pcpartpicker.com/p/PdC3kL

If trying to keep it cheaper you could go for a Xeon processor for an Intel CPU

If you're about getting an APU, the A10 7850K is about the same price: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-ad785kxbjabox

Why I suggest it? Well, you said it's GPU bound, they are supposed to be the same architecture so read this:

The A10 7700K has 384 Shader cores and the A10 7850K has 512, 33 % more at the same clock

The list with your parts but with the 7850K

CPU: AMD A10-7850K 3.7GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($119.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-HD2 Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard  ($48.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $353.48
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
