M.2 vs SSD Boot

As the title would suggest, I currently have an SSD, Plextor M5S, it might not be the best but it does the job. I'll be getting a full overhaul of parts soon and the MoBo I'll be getting has an M.2 slot and I was wondering if booting from there will yield any difference or do any better than an SSD?

M.2 is pretty much the same, you will see no difference.

M.2 allows for a significantly faster connection than SATA as it uses PCI Express. 

However, some chips are just converted from a SATA drive and consequently drive perform similarly.

 

Since you have a SATA SSD, just use it.  There won't be any real benefit unless you haul tons of data around all the time.

It will all depend on the quality of the nand and the rated speed, m.2 will allow for faster speeds than Sata but a m.2 drive will perform the same as a similar specced ssd.
