My computer specs are:

Intel Core i5 4670k

GIGABYTE GTX 780

Kingston HyperX Beast 16GB, 2400Mhz

MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming

What I was doing these days.. I was overclocking my cpu to see what can I achieve.. I'm currently running on 4.4 ghz at 1.150V with everything else on auto. The only setting I have changed is to Dynamic Mode not Fixed.

Now I know that there's only a small difference between 4.2 and 4.4 (only in benchmarks) but still I would love to know at what voltages are you running this CPU and what speeds.

4.4 at 1.150 ????

Have you run a stress test?

My 4690K needed 1.160v to be stable at 4.0 ghz!

Also what mode did you change to Dynamic and not Fixed? Voltage?

Mine was stable 15 minutes under prime95 small ftt and aida64 stress test at 1.150. I was on dynamic mode everything else on auto. I can also run 4.2 at 1.090 and the ring ratio at 1.065

Don't use Prime95 for Haswell CPUs, it will damage your CPU (not sure if it's safe for other CPUs).

What do you mean by Dynamic mode?!?!

WHAT MODE???

Voltage mode? What??

Haha :D CPU ratio mode to dynamic mode oh.. and I've also set the core voltage mode and cpu ring voltage mode to adaptive. I have the MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming motherboard.

What I want to achieve is higher clocks that would actually do a difference in games and such..

What cooler do you use?

Do you monitor your CPU clock and voltage while stress testing?

I think your CPU clock might go down or you voltage might go up automatically.

Well does it go up or does it stay exactly like it's set in the BIOS?

The multiplier is what I set it but the voltage seems to go up a bit.. for example if I have 1.150 it jumps to 1.168.. Do you know how to set it to be exactly like I set it?

It's probably LLC. 15min of stress test doesn't indicate stability, play a CPU demanding game for approximately 3 hours, if it doesn't crash it's probably stable for daily use. You can also test it by 8 hours of IETU stress test, but if you play games it's faster to troubleshoot by playing some for longer period. BTW you would benefit more from OC'ing that GPU than CPU.

I have already juiced that gtx 780 +60 on core clock and +600 MHz on memory clock. The whole PC is juiced. Except for the cpu now running at 4.2 ghz

Do you have custom bios for 780? 60Mhz is really low.

I have an MSI Z97 board, basically almost the same BIOS as your's. The actual voltage will always be higher than what you set. I think that if you look in the BIOS, you will see 1.160 written in grey, next to the set 1.150. And then it drains a bit more, so CPU-Z shows 1.168. At least that's my case.
