Okay, lets start off with my system specs

GTX 770 4GIG

I7 3770K

8 GIG DDR 3 RAM

620 WATT ANTEC PSU

1080p MONITOR

Right, now that thats out of the way, when i have the budget, im going to buy myself the Gigabyte 980 TI (In the 3-5 Months). Basicly i want to know is this

1. How will the 980 TI perform with a 1080p G-Sync Monitor with the current games on MAX (Shadow of Mordor, GTA V, Witcher 3, Dragon Age Inquisition ect ect)??

2. Is my PSU enough for a single 980 TI EVEN with all of my current specs??

3. Should i consider SLI 980 TI (Never SLI'd before in my life) if a single 980 TI will struggle with a 1080p G-Sync monitor with current games on max, if so, what PSU am i looking at, if not, what GPU should i buy??

1. Just fine.

2. Yes.

3. Single 980ti should be more than enough. My friend maxes out GTA V with 8x MSAA at 1080p with a 980ti.

Which settings does he turn down because with my MSI GTX 980ti Gaming card I cannot run MSAA 8x plus max every other setting. Something has to be turned down. I'm running on a 4k monitor.

This question gets asked so many times, the 980ti runs great. IMHO a 650w PSU is low and I would consider going to a 750 or 800w, especially if you want to OC your video card. You wouldn't be able to SLI a 980 on a 650w PSU. If you're going to SLI a 980ti you'd want at least 1000w or better.

The thing is though, is my friend is running at 1080p, and you said you're running at 4k.

I am not looking to overclock. I am not a fan of overclocking. Everything on my PC is always on stock clocks and speeds

The thing bothering me bout the 980 TI is its V-RAM compared to the TITAN X. Is 6GB VRAM even enough if i buy a 1080p G SYNC monitor? How will 6GB even fair with modern games? I dont want to upgrade my card and hit the V-RAM wall and my card falls behind just because of its V-RAM

Do you really want to put a nearly 700 dollar video card on a system that may just barely be able to run the card well? It's your card and your money but honestly that just seems like a dumb risk. Spend an extra 50 to 100 bucks and get a very good PSU that will grow with you and that you're not going to have to worry about being the fail point in your computer. There's a very good LTT video about this very topic.

You should only worry about 6gb of VRAM not being enough if you are planning playing games at 4k but not Full HD

Keep in mind that i might want to SLI the 980TI because i am still deciding with the 4K monitor or a G-Sync monitor....

Is a G-Sync monitor not 4k?? Or is it just a beefier version of a TN Display Panel?

Gsync = realtime synchronisation between hz and fps

4k = Resolution

TN = Panel Type the Display use

There are different Panels with different Resolutions with and without Gsync.

Also, some people say the Gigabyte version of the 980TI has Coil Whine. Is this true?? Because im a gigabyte fan

The G1 has the most Problems in case of Coilwhine reference to LTT Forum. Dont mean yours will have it.

1: 980ti for 1080p is silly

2: 980ti for 1080p is silly

3: buy a better monitor.

my 980ti can max out gta v at 4k with no AA or advanced settings and maintain 65+fps.

Okay, so a G-Sync is nothing speacial of a monitor accept for its synchronisation between HZ and FPS. So its basicly just a normal panel with a more crisp display like an LED monitor with a IPS back panel??

And for the love of....i was thinking on getting the G1. Thing is Gigabyte is my brand i trust. Choosing other brands i am a bit sceptic of

Ohh, Gsync is very spezial! Its a NVidia Chip inside the Monitor. It makes everything absolutly smooth and lag/tearing free. Huge difference, no matter at what Framerate.

I use the xb270hu. Its a 1440p IPS Gsync Monitor. And i will never go back.

And the G1, just buy it and have FUn. If it has CoilWhine, RMA it.

That would be a issue for me because im from South Africa, and i order my computer parts over seas. So it would be kinda hard for me to RMA it

Either one of these are great PSU, the platinum will be a bit better based on the rating of the PSU. I personally went with the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438013 I'm running an i7-5930k and I am OC'ing. From the people that I've spoken with about PSU's and also based on the LTT PSU video if I end up going SLI 2x or 3x then I'll probably put the current PSU on ebay and then get a 1200. Again, from my point of view I absolutely never want the PSU to be a choke point in a computer that costs several thousand dollars.
