SLI GTX 970

I am wanting to do SLI with my Gigabyte GTX 970, but my only problem is that I can put the exact same card in because it doesn't fit in my case. How can I make sure another 970 would be compatible? And what would you recommend?

So the Windforce 970 is too long? Get the Gigabyte ITX 970.

How is a second card unable to fit in the case? By all accounts it should be fine.

 

Edit: I guess too long is the problem. Whoops. Just get a Strix 970 to go along with it. good cooler, nice and small.

As long as its a gtx 970, and has the same amount of vram (so basically all 970s because i dont think there is an 8gb 970), it should work.

 

I think the cards will sync the core clocks by themselves.

the shortest 970 non ITX is the evga gtx 970 ssc

Exactly what it is. Just by a few inches

Very slightly reduced clock speed, I doubt you would notice. Also does not heat up much and is quiet, amazing card.

So would you guys recommend just getting the Gigabyte 970 ITX or a Zotax/EVGA/MSI? I want the best performance out of this second card, but it has to be less than 11 inches. Preferably around 10.
