Hello all!

I found a legit copy of VIsta in my drawer and I was wondering if I should install it on my SSD. I've been told not to because there's no in-built TRIM function which greatly reduces its write/read performance in general. I'm using Windows 7 at the moment but it's messed up. Getting too many errors... Even if there's no automatic TRIM in Vista, I could still do it manually, right? I know SP1 was awful but as far as I know MS pretty much fixed everything in SP2. I really want Windows Vista but my question to you guys is, should I go for it? I'm not a gamer so DX performance is the last thing I care about.

My specs:

Intel P965

Core 2 Duo E 6600 @ 2.4

4 * 1gb of kingston 667 mhz ddr2 dual channel

Asus gtx-750 ti oc 2gb dual fan edition

corsair builder series cx430

SSD: HyperX Fury 240GB (about 7 months old)

Windows 7 runs pretty decently on this out-dated configuration but some files got messed up and I don't want to reinstall this OS because I find Windows 7 boring and I want to try something "new".

Thanks!

with my experience, i think you should just clean up win 7 as win vista will probably be cut off support within 1/2 years max

(vista is the worst anyway)

Hmm, I thought they had fixed things in service pack 2. It's still awful?
