That should work without any problems and is probably the easiest way to get your PC to boot again.

hi, so um i have a asus pc wich came with windows 8 oem. i have changed everything on my pc expect ram, mobo and original hdd. so when the windows 10 came out i wanted to upgrade to it and i did ofc. everything was working just fine but yesterday i coulndt open my startmenu for some reasong i googled to see if i could find anything, so i found and article that said i could try and make another profile, so i made it restarted my pc didnt work, so i figured out i could facotory reset my pc, so i did that. so it started resetting my pc and after a while it said something was broken and couldnt finish it. so i pressed the cancels button wich was the the only option, and after that my pc has been bootlooping qbout 1hour now.

my question is that can i buy a retail version of windows 8.1 for example and do a clean install it to my ssd that i bought about a month ago, i havent used it yet. like i dont know what to do now pls help ;_;
