Fan vibration

waleedshahid001

Hey guys,

So am building a PC :

Corsair 750D , i7 4790k w/t h100i gtx , msi gaming 5 Mobo, windforce gtx 980 ti

I had a af140 fan spair and decided to fit it next to the h100i gtx rad. The thing is it didnt actually fit , but I made it fit using the grill on top.

Now the fan is holding on with just 2 screws , will this cause vibration in the system ( cant power up , waiting for psu delivery) and is the fitting OK ?

I would just remove that fan.  If you have a case where intakes are in the front and outtake through the top of the case, making the fan an intake would just disrupt that flow, and making it an outtake would reduce the amount of air flowing through the radiator, which also wouldn't be any good.

So, to me personally, the fan doesn't really do anything at all, maybe even makes things worse.  If you have all your top fans are intakes then maybe it makes some sense.  Maybe I'm wrong.

should work because it is mounted with the diagonal screws

While I agree with this post, if you want the fan there you should not have a big issue with vibration. If you want to be fully sure try some black zip ties.

It shouldn't be a issue there . About the vibration if it does create any noise from vibration then you can put some rubber insulation between the fan edges and the case so if fills in the small layer/gap and it don't vibrate and make any sounds if it does. Other than that it should be in a good position being there just depends on how you put it to take air in or blow air out the case.
