will a Sound Card make a difference?

well i'm not an expert when it comes to Audio so.....

i'll be recording video commentaries so... ,i was wondering if buying a sound card will improve my voice quality? , i'm getting some background noises right now using my built-in ports on my Gigabyte P61 MOBO

(and i'm willing to buy a Snowball mic)

No.  Soundcards are really most useful for getting more in/out options and better (stronger) amplification, not for quality.

or get a usb mic.
