Replacing Speaker Drivers Please Help!

Hello all,

 

I have an ancient enclosure that I want to re-use and replace the drivers in as the original ones are completely destroyed. It's a ported enclosure with a volume of about 1 cubic ft and has spaces for a 3" tweeter and an 8" woofer. I will be replacing the crossover with whatever I need.

 

What Driver suggestions do you have? How much should I look at spending if I want middle of the road performance?

What are you going to hook it up to?What amp you have and what use do you have for it?Car audio or home?

8inch subwoofer or loudspeaker?

1. Home audio, will probably use it with a pioneer receiver

2.  Loudspeakers, an 8" woofer to handle all the low-end and a 3" for the high end.
