Any ATX mobo will only fit in a mid tower or dual chamber compact I think. So I would say something like the NZXT S340,Corsair Air 540,Fractal Design Arc Midi R2, Corsair Carbide Spec 01.

The smallest ATX case is the Cooler Master Haf XB. Its only as wide and long as an ATX board and is the size of a test bench.

Silverstone Raven 5/Fortress 5, Fractal design node 804 (it's a HTPC case, you might be able to use it but I recall there was something to do with size compatibility for some parts) NZXT S340 and coolermaster HAF XB are the cases you should look at IMO.

hi,

When I upgrade my motherboard and CPU, I was thinking of plopping them into a HTPC. Now, my mobo is ATX. What is the smallest case that can support an ATX PSU and maybe a small GPU? THanks.

Node 605 from Fractal Design. It will accept a GPU like the Asus and Gigabytes ITX 970s or the R9 380/285 ITX versions from sapphire, as well as most lower end GPUs that are typical for HTPCs (750ti, R7 360)
