I have two desktops that are both running off hard drives. I don't have a large budget (pref <$50) and I would like to get an ssd for the OS only. I don't have to get it soon so I wanted to wait till a really good deal came around. Any tips? currently I look at /r/buildapcsales but no really good sales have come around.

If you get two of these it will cost about $70. I know that's a bit over budget, but it's the cheapest SSD I could find, that wasn't from a trash brand, and that had enough capacity.

That's great! thanks. Ive never heard of that brand before do you think it will hold up?

Hey there doublehelix,

Is there a particular reason or usage that requires you to transfer the OS from the HDDs to SSDs? If you are getting a second-hand storage drive, I would strongly recommend to be careful and check out the S.M.A.R.T. status of the drive before purchasing and trusting your data to it. SSDs deliver shorter access times and faster transfer speeds, but it really depends on what you are using your computers for if you are going to notice any differences in the performance of your computers besides more responsiveness.
