VGA quality depending on device?

Go to solution Solved by sirtoby,

ok. i bought a dvi-d cable and it works perfectly.

my problem turned into following one:

display one is connected via dvi-d

display two is connected via HDMI and is also recognized by the system (showing up in the menu to change displays and resolution) but it stays black and says "no cable connected".

do you know this problem?

Do you have a way to manually choose the source on your monitor? My screen has sometimes problems detecting hdmi input, so I have to manually set it.

hi you guys.

i have a monitor which is installed to the vga port on an asus h97 motherboard. with a resolution of 1080p the image becomes quite blurry. however, if i connect the monitor to an old hp mini laptop the vga image is crispy clear - again with 1080p.

is this normal? did this ever happen to you?

any thoughts on this? because it sucks to have a new motherboard with a blurry image.

Why are you using VGA? Are you using different cables?

Molex to SATA, lose all your data

VGA is analogue.

Digital when there is a bad cable or interference there is Picture or No picture

Analogue when there is a bad cable or interference the Picture could be fine it could be blurry or No Picture. (Depending of the interference)

I would just get a new (Good) VGA cable and see if that fixes it or try a digital interface (if the monitor has digital interface) such as DVI-I or DVI-D, HDMI or DisplayPort.
