Apple TV 1 not posting

So I found an Apple TV 1 in my uncles house. I plugged it into the wall and hooked it up with HDMI. Nothing happened. I did see a power LED come up and I heard the HDD spin Does anyone know what to do? Keep in mind I have no idea if this works and I have no idea where the remote is. Thanks!
