in my bios there is a setting that i can turn on called oc genie i presume it overclocks my cpu has anyone ever used it and does it do a good stable job of turning up my gigahertz system is i5-4690k and mobo is http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Motherboards-Z97-PC-MATE/dp/B00K23BW70/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1438388720&sr=8-3&keywords=msi+z97 and cooler is kraken x41

It does a fairly decent job, I would use it if you're experienced. If not then just do it the good old way ;) Also remember after overclocking run a stress test for 24 hours to ensure that everything is stable.

 i am not very experienced so it will turn up my voltage and clock speed correct

Correct that is what it will do. Remember to have good cooling as this will increase overall system temperature.
