Bad bios update?

Gambon

Hi,

I've recently build a pc with some old parts that where lying around. After updating the BIOS because the old version was supposed to have some problems the pc stopped starting correctly (long beeps and takes about 5 minutes to post) I get a message saying that the cmos checksum is bad, and the performance was greatly impacted (it's slow even when running dos).

My specs are:

i7 860 2.8 Ghz

msi p55-gd80 mother board

ati 4870 crossfire

4x2 gb of DDR3 ram

And all the components are working perfectly (I checked everything before the bios update)

I tried reverting to an older version of the BIOS but it didn't help, so i really don't know what to do...

Please help ^^
