Optical drive issues (?)

Go to solution Solved by dlf,

Turns out it was a secondary connected SSD of what used to be a second optical drive.

Relevant parts:

*     Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H-WB ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
*     Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer
*     Operating System: Linux Mint 17.2 (Cinnamon, 64 bit)

The issue is that I apparently can't see my optical drive when I reboot and get into the boot menu (f12) when I have a disc in the optical drive. On the other hand it  appears when I stick one of these in the disc drive and i'm in Windows or Linux I can see it no issue. In a spare laptop I have on hand the discs appear to work fine, it's just on my main computer it can't.

Secondly, in my UEFI it appears I can not really decide the boot order anymore - I don't see the drives although I can active or deactivate the SATA port that has the drive connected.
