So i have windows 8.1. i also have the little icon for windows 10 in the bottom right where u reserve and what not. i reserved mine weeks ago but i havent gotten the notification that says its ready and when i go to the little box its says tyhat mine is reserved and that it will tell me when it is ready. Why is it not ready now. The only issues is that corsair link has not been updated but i dont care unless it prevents the update to windows 10. Could it be that this doesnt work on OEM versions of windows?

It can take up to a month to get the update. This is a known thing.

will this be free too?

If you have windows 7 or 8.1 and a valid product key it will work, for free.  You can upgrade and keep all your files, or start fresh on a clean install.

You will get the notification when all the drivers for your hardware are available and ready, force updating, as Vizzion suggested, may result in driver issues.

If the only conflict is corsair link then it will work, as my H100i is working fine without link.  I just can't change colors or fanspeed until the new driver comes out.  Fans are on quiet be default so i never change them anyways.

If you have Nvidia graphics drivers theres 10 trillion tutorials on how to get those working correctly
