See if there is anything with a yellow '!'

 

EDIT: are you connecting a communications device in the pci slot?

what os are you running?

If it is a prebuilt go to your manufacturer's website and download the chipset driver. If it is custom built, download your chipset driver from the motherboard manufacturer's website. Did you try right clicking on the device in device manager and allowing windows to check if it is able to install those drivers?

And it its a laptop the check if it has a modem and install the modem driver. Nearly all these "PCI controller for simple communication" on laptops are due to modem drivers.
