Adding onto this, if all of the files have downloaded should I be expecting the notification to update soon or is it just there ready?

Not everyone can download the massive file at the same time and upgrade. It would be too taxing on the shitty system in place. They will eventually let you know when you are able to. You can look around to find some ways to force the update, but that is up to you to search and try.

If you don't want to wait just get the official media creation tool from HERE and install Windows 10 that way. Make sure you have "Upgrade this PC now" selected when you launch it and then it will download Windows 10 and go through the upgrade process. In my case I didn't need to use the product key and Windows 10 was activated after install. Just select to keep all of your files and settings so that all of it moves over as well.
